Post here!

Hey all,
I'll be out of town Thurs-Sun (visiting my new baby nephew in NY!) so I won't be able to post a recap on this week's episode until early next week. For those who would still like to discuss what happens, please post here! I'll read through all the posts once I get to watch it and will post a recap including comments and questions in this thread. Thanks, and to all who celebrate it, Happy Easter! :)

arg, I still haven't had the chance to watch last week's episode, hopefully tonight. Guess we have a few weeks to mull things over till the show comes back on, hopefully tomorrow I'll have up a recap!

I finally was able to watch the newest episode, "Meet Kevin Johnson."

Since no one seems inclined to pick up the trumpet with my name on it, I'd like to play the tune myself, and ask, WHO CALLED IT?

Last week, I posted my thoughts in a stream of consciousness. I quote:

"What about Mr. Widmore? He seems to have a great deal of resources of his own. Could it be that he has an inkling where to find the Island and what it is capable of being, and he will stop at nothing to find it as well as prevent anyone else from finding it first?"

La dee daa daa... I nailed it!

Okay, to be fair, I missed it regarding "Kevin" knowing the other Losties. He was just playing a good deadpan-face two weeks ago when we first saw Michael come back on screen.

...but I did get the story of Mr Widmore spot-on!

Now... my reaction to the loss of two characters:

Uhhh? Whuah? Hey, they jus... bubbbblahblah... huh? I can't belie... duuuuuh. They jus did it again! What's goin'.... oh, poor girl! What?! The show is over?! They can't do this! Ugggghhhh!

I think Ben contacted his folks and instructed them to kill his daughter's interfering boyfreind and new-found mother so he could get her back for himself again. He seems to have a habit of killing people in order to manipulate others to stay under his control (like the maternity Dr.) I still suspect that the whole children dying on the island thing is a ruse set up by Ben.

The rest of the episode was so-so. I have never been a big Michael fan and while it was a spoiled surprise for him to come back, I'm not thrilled to see him take this much screen time. 3/4 of the episode was all backstory. I like it better when they pepper it in with the meat of what is happening in the Island-present.

Not really liking Michael, I was cheering Navene, uh, Sayid when he turned him in to the Captian. I'm not sure if that was a good play on his part or for the rest of the Losties, but I hope the Captian has him keel-hauled, and we can have-done with Michael for good. Even if the island won't let him die, they could leave him chained underwater to the hull of the ship for the duration of the series as far as I'm concerned.

No, I would never speak so lightly about a real-life person's death. It's one of the great things about make-believe TV shows is that we are free to cast away any characters we don't like and bring the ones we like back.

Speaking of which, one of the best things about seeing Michael come back into the picture is that we get to see Libby again, even if only as a manifestation of the Island (or Michael's subconcious). I wish they would not have taken her out so completely.

Hurley needs his girl back.

I am still not really sure if it was Widmore or Ben who set everything up. We know, based on Mile's demands, that Ben has incredible resources as well, and Michael wasn't at the most analytical frame of mind when presented with the documents 'proving' a man he'd never even heard of was responsible for this balogne. I don't understand why John bought the Widmore story based on a short VHS and a file folder of potentially doctored documents either.

Another thing that has been bothering me: If Desmond's predecessor and his partner in the button-hatch (can't remember the dharma name) were original members of Dharma, and Ben knew about all the hatches... why not wipe them out also? (and if they were indeed in Ben's gang, then why would they have to keep so isolated? It would seem really unnecessary) I understand it turned out to be relatively unnecessary b/c they hid there without disrupting anything.... but it seems to go opposite of Ben's "kill them all" philosophy of him getting his way. Especialy knowing how important the button and the electromagnetic whatsewhoozits of the island are... seems like an obvious oversight for him to have just let that one go un-Other'ed

Hahaha, Robetron, our near-overwhelming temptation to stand and applaud your Babe Ruthian call was tempered by the lingering disappointment of a previous declaration that it could only be Sylar who emerged from the shadows to dispatch Hiro's Daddy-o. We're still in a healing process over that one. Now, put that trumpet down and eat your veggies or there'll be no TV for you tonight.
